BENGALURU: A total of 20 cases of firecracker-related injuries have been reported at Narayana Nethralaya hospital during Deepavali celebrations. On Monday, five cases were reported, and 15 more were reported late at night. Most of the injured were children who were playing with firecrackers.
The number of cases reported at Minto Hospital has risen to 13. Eye experts are advising people to be cautious while handling firecrackers.
If your eyes are injured due to firecrackers, follow these steps:
– Wash your eyes with cold, clean water
– Do not rub your eyes with your hands
– Visit an eye specialist immediately.
Narayana Nethralaya director Dr Narendra Shetty advised people not to neglect eye injuries, as eyes are sensitive.
