SHIVAMOGGA: After battling for life for a week, two-year-old boy Atharv, who had suffered burns after hot tea spilled on him, succumbed to burn injuries today morning at a hospital in Mangaluru.
Atharv was the son of Rajesh and Ashwini from Hiremane village in Hosanagara taluk of Shivamogga district.
The incident occurred when Ashwini was serving tea to relatives who had come to pay their condolences after a neighbour’s death. The child accidentally spilled the hot tea on himself, causing severe burns.
The child had been undergoing treatment at a hospital in Mangaluru for the past week, but died this morning without responding to the treatment.
