In a similar incident in Udupi, a bike rider narrowly escaped death after being hit by a truck at Manipal junction. The two-wheeler rider was riding along the road when a multi-axle truck took a sharp left turn, brushing against the scooter and throwing the rider off balance.

Luckily, the rider did not fall on the road and was saved. In CCTV footage, it can be seen that he almost came under the rear wheel of the truck, but fortunately, he stood up and was saved.

Several accidents have occurred at the junction in the past resulting in deaths and injuries. Teh Manipal-Ambagilu Road in Udupi city has become an accident-prone area. The main concern is large and heavy vehicles taking sharp turns on the national highway, posing a threat for two-wheeler riders.
