Police at the scene where two girls were seriously injured after a wheelie-popping due crashed into them.

HASSAN: Two men, who were popping wheelies, crashed into two girls, leaving them seriously injured, near the Kannada Sahitya Parishat Bhavan on Salagame road here on Wednesday night. The motorcycle-borne duo, including a minor, have been arrested.

Bhumika, a second-year BA student, and Sinchana, a second PUC student, had just finished their dinner and were getting on their scooter when the motorcycle ridden by Shakir and a minor crashed into them.

The bike crashed into the girls who were getting on their scooter.

Bhumika and Sinchana were immediately rushed to a private hospital from where the former was shifted to Nimhans in Bengaluru as she had sustained serious head injury.

Locals, who gathered there after the accident, thrashed the Shakir and the minor boy before handing them over to the police. They alleged that menace of youngsters performing wheelies has continued unabated and demanded that the police should crack down on such elements.
