2 dead as SUV rams into truck; 5 cars in serial accident on Bengaluru-Mysuru highway

RAMANAGARA, MANDYA: Two engineering students died while the driver of their SUV was seriously injured after the Toyota Fortuner rammed into a truck from behind near Kapanaiahna Doddi village on the Bengaluru-Mysuru highway around midnight on Saturday.

The deceased are Vishwa and Surya, both aged 21 while the injured driver is Suhas. The deceased hailed from Andhra Pradesh and were studying at an engineering college in Bengaluru.

Suhas, who sustained serious injuries, has been admitted to a hospital. The SUV was almost completely torn apart due to the impact. The Ramanagara traffic police have registered a case.

Meanwhile, five cars were involved in a serial accident near Gejjalagere in Maddur taluk on the same highway. The incident occurred when the cars were heading towards Mysuru. The Maddur traffic police have registered a case.
