BENGALURU: Four people died and several others were injured in three accidents in different parts of the state today morning.
In Ramanagara, a 22-year-old woman, who was riding pillion on a two-wheeler, died on the spot after a car belonging to the Ramanagara municipal commissioner Nagesh rammed them from behind on the old Bengaluru-Mysuru highway.
The victim was identified aas Anjum Siddiq and they were travelling towards Mysuru when the accident occurred in front of the deputy commissioner’s office.
The injured rider has been admitted to the district hospital. The Ramanagara traffic police have seized the car and registered a case. It is said that the driver lost control and rammed the two-wheeler from behind.
A KSRTC bus collided with an autorickshaw near the Jayamangala bridge close to Kodigenahalli in Madhugiri taluk of Tumakuru district, leading to the death of one woman while nine others were injured.
The deceased was identified as Lakshmidevi (33) of Jogenahalli. She was working in a garment unit at Gauribidanur when the accident occurred. The nine others who sustained serious injuries were admitted to the government hospital in Madhugiri. The Kodigehalli police have registered a case.
A couple died after their good autorickshaw collided with a car near Harivesandra in Gubbi taluk on Tuesday. Nagaraj and Shyamala were heading to the KG Temple fairm in their goods auto when a Maruti car collided with their vehicle. While Nagaraju died on the spot, Shyamala died on the way to hospital. The Gubbi police have registered a case.
In another incident, a KSRTC bus heading to Mysuru from NR Pura in Chikkamagalur district, rammed into a roadside tree near Seeke village. The bus had left NR Pura at 6 am and crashed into a tree barely 15 km away after the driver lost control.
Due to the impact, the tree got uprooted and fell on the bus which was carrying 28 passengers. About 10-12 passengers sustained minor injuries and were shifted to the Balehonnur hospital for treatment.
