GADAG: A goods vehicle crashed into a tree near Harti village in the district, killing two people and injuring eight others. The victims were returning from Holi celebrations at Gojanuru, where they had gone to watch a DJ procession.
The deceased are identified as Muttappa Sutageri (35) and Ningappa Yelavatti (36), both from Hirekoppa village, Gadag district. The injured, including two seriously injured, have been admitted to Gadag GIMS hospital and KIMS hospital in Hubballi.
The accident occurred due to the driver’s negligence, and the vehicle’s front portion was severely damaged. Police have registered a case and are investigating the incident.
