BENGALURU: Two boys, who had gone swimming in an abandoned quarry at Hulimangala in Anekal taluk on the outskirts of the city on Tuesday evening, were found dead on Thursday.

They were identified as Theerthesh (12) and Faizal Khan, both residents of Maragondanahalli near Electronics City. They went to the quarry for a swim around 5 pm on Tuesday evening, but did not return home.

The two boys were missing ever since they went swimming on Tuesday evening.

The Fire and Emergency Services personnel launched a search early on Wednesday after a bicycle, footwear and clothes belonging to the two boys were found close to the quarry. However, the search was called off after dusk. On Thursday morning, the bodies of both the boys were found floating in the water.

Family members of the boys had alleged that the Hebbagodi police had been dismissive when they tried to lodge a missing person’s complaint on Tuesday night and asked them to come on Wednesday morning.
