CHIKKAMAGALUR: Two people have been arrested for slaughtering a cow they had reared for arranging a feast to celebrate the engagement of the daughter of one of the duo at Eechikere village in NR Pura taluk. The arrested have been sent to judicial custody while the police are on the lookout for three more people.
The family of Roshan, whose daughter’s engagement ceremony was to be conducted at their home, slaughtered the cow they had reared, to feed the guests. On receiving information, the NR Pura police raided the house when the meat was being segregated and arrested two people.
The police are on the lookout for three more people in the case.
