19,000 SSLC students failed in Kannada 1st language, 9,000 in Hindi 3rd language

BENGALURU: More number of SSLC students who had opted for Kannada as first language have failed than those who chose Hindi as the third language. This year, nearly 19,000 students failed in Kannada first language while 9,000 students failed in Hindi as third language, the KSEAB has informed.

A total of 18,678 students have failed in first language. Among those who took Kannada as third language, 289 students have failed. In Kannada as first language, 6,07,275 students appeared for the exam; 5,88,597 students passed and 18,678 students failed (Pass percentage 96.92 per cent).

Among those who took English as first language, 98.38 per cent students passed, while 98.15 per cent of students who took Hindi as first language passed.

In first language subjects overall, 7,69,926 students appeared for the exam; of these, 7,48,660 students passed (97.24 per cent pass). 21,266 students failed (2.76 per cent). In second language, 98.14 per cent passed and in third language, 98.55 per cent passed.
