BENGALURU: A 19-year-old youth has been arrested for blackmailing a college girl and extorting 75 grams gold worth Rs 3.5 lakh from her.
The accused Tejas had been threatening the girl saying he would post her personal photos and her alleged boyfriend’s photos on social media if she didn’t give him money and gold.
Tejas was harassing the PUC girl student and would often come to her college and home, demanding gold and money. The girl’s mother discovered the missing jewellery and asked her daughter when the enire incident came to light.
The girl’s mother lodged a complaint at the Subramanyapura police station. The police have arrested and recovered the stolen gold jewelry worth Rs 3.5 lakh from Tejas.
