HUBBALLI: An 18-year-old youth, who was admitted to the Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences, (KIMS), here, committed suicide by jumping from the third floor of the hospital building early on Thursday morning. The deceased was identified as Adarsh S Gondkar.
The youth had been admitted to the hospital for treatment of fever. Around 4 am on Thursday, he jumped from a window on the third floor. Though he was rushed to the emergency department, he did not survive. In a video, he can be heard screaming, “I will die, I will die”.
The incident has raised questions about safety measures at the hospital.The Vidyanagar police have registered a case in connnection with the suicide.
