KALABURAGI: A 17-year-old girl, identified as Sania Tamboli, died and four other children were seriously injured after a wall of their house collapsed due to rainfall in Yadrami town on Monday. The incident occurred around 2.30 am when their parents, who are labourers, were away in another town.
The wall collapse resulted in Sania’s instant death while her siblings Mehboob, Nishad, Ayesha and Ramzanabi were injured and admitted to Yadrami government hospital for treatment. Local residents rescued the three children from the debris and they are currently receiving treatment at the hospital.
A case has been registered at Yadrami police station, and an investigation is under way. Locals expressed anger at authorities for not visiting the site after the incident, leading to protests outside the hospital. They are demanding justice for Sania’s death and have requested a compensation of ₹25 lakh for the bereaved family.
