17-year-old girl attacked with ‘acid’ near Ramanagara, hospitalised

RAMANAGARA: A jilted youth who came on a motorcycle threw acid on the face of a 17-year-old girl for rejecting his advances near Narayanappa Lake on the Kanakapura Bypass Road on Friday.

Sumanth, alias Appu, a resident of Kurupet in Kanakapura, threw acid on the face of a minor. Sumant called the minor girl near the Kanakapura Bypass road to talk to ther. The girl, along with her brother had gone to talk with him and he forced her to accept his love many times. She rejected it and he threw acid on her face and escaped.

The minor girl’s left eye and face was injured in the incident. She was immediately taken to the Kanakapura primary health centre and later she was transferred to Nimhans in Bengaluru. A case has been registered at the Kanakapura Town police station and Ramanagara SP Karthik Reddy visited the spot.
