15 students of pre-matric girls’ hostel taken ill after food poisoning

Two of the hostel inmates are being treated at the Raichur Institute of Medical Sciences.

RAICHUR: Fifteen inmates of the pre-matric girls’ hostel at Manvi fell ill due to food poisoning on Sunday afternoon. While 14 students had been hospitalised then itself, another student was admitted to hospital on Sunday night. While two students are admitted at RIMS, the others were given treatment at a hospital in Manvi.

The students had been served pulav, sambar and chutney for lunch following with 15 students fell ill. On Monday, officials of the Health and Social Welfare Departments visited the pre-matric hospital and conducted an inspection.

Manvi MLA Hampaiah Nayak visited the students and inquired about their health.
