15 passengers hurt, one suffers broken leg as bus overturns

The bus overturned as the driver was drowsy and lost control.

RAICHUR: A KKRTC sleeper bus overturned near 7th Mile Cross on the outskirts of Raichur in Friday morning, leaving 16 passengers injured, including one critically.

The bus was travelling from Davangere to Raichur and overturned into rolling over into a nearby field as the driver was feeling drowsy. One passenger, identified as Vishwanath, suffered a fracture in the leg and was admitted to RIMS hospital. Fifteen others sustained minor injuries.

A crane was used to lift the bus amidst heavy rain, and the remaining passengers were safe. All the injured were shifted to hospital by ambulance. Fire tenders were also rushed to the spot. The incident occurred in Raichur Rural police station limits.
