CHIKKABALLAPUR: Ahead of the Gowri-Ganesha festival, villagers in Alambagiri of Chintamani taluk, who had gone to clean the three Nagarakallu in the surroundings of the lake, found many more such Nagarakallu. This left the villagers shocked.
Three Nagarakallu were located near the lake on the outskirts of the village, and the area around them is cleaned during festivals. However, as some youths from the village were cleaning the area, they found more Nagarakallu, and so far, over 140 stone Naga idols have been discovered.
Tahsildar Sudarshan Yadav has visited the site and conducted an investigation.
