14-yearr-old boy tied to tree, beaten as father fails to repay Rs 40,000 loan

KOPPAL: A 14-year-old boy was tied to a tree and thrashed by some people as his parents had not repaid a loan. The incident occurred at K Hosur village in Kushtagi taluk on December 28 last year, but has come to light only now.

Doddabasappa Madiwalara was tied to a tree and badly thrashed by Kanakaraya Madiwalara, Rajeshwari Madiwalara, Veerabhadrappa Madiwalara, Gangamma Madiwalara, Nirupadeppa Madiwalara and Basavaraja Madiwalara, his mother Manjula told the jurisdictional police in her complaint on Decmeber 31. However, she claimed that the police did not register her complaint and hence, she approached the Superintendent of Police.

In her complaint to the SP, Manjula said her husband Mariyappa Madiwalara had borrowed Rs 40,000 of which he had repaid Rs 30,000. However, the seven thrashed her son over non-repayment of the remaining Rs 10,000, she has alleged.
