KARWAR: A 13-year-old boy died after choking on a balloon at Joganakoppa village in Haliyal taluk on Sunday. The deceased was identified as Naveen Narayaan Belgaumkar, a Class 7 student at the government primary school in the village.
Naveen was playing in his house when he accidentally swallowed a balloon while blowing it. The balloon got stuck in his throat, causing him to choke. Though he was rushed to hospital, the boy did not survive.
