DAVANAGERE: A Tempo Traveller tourist vehicle, carrying 13 passengers, overturned near Hebbalu Toll Gate in Davangere district, early on Thursday morning. The vehicle was headed to Dandeli from Bengaluru, carrying a group of young men from Tamil Nadu.
The accident occurred around 5.30 am, and the fire department received a distress call. The fire brigade team, led by DFO Vasanth and Mohammed Rafiq, rushed to the scene and rescued all 13 passengers using specialised equipment.
The injured were taken to SS Hospital for treatment, and fortunately, there were no fatalities. The police have registered a case, and an investigation is under way.
The quick response of the fire department and the bravery of the rescue team prevented a major disaster. The incident is currently under investigation, and the authorities are working to determine the cause of the accident.
