MYSURU: A 13‑year‑old boy was severely injured in his private parts after being thrashed by three senior students in a ragging incident at a prestigious school at Jayalakshmipuram in the city.
The three seniors were ragging the boy, repeatedly demanding money and his mobile phone and forcing him to obey their orders. On October 25, they took the boy to the bathroom and thrashed him in the private parts, causing serious injury to his testicles.
The police have not registered a complaint against the three boys despite the parents’ request, and the victim’s family is urging the authorities to take strict action.
The mother of the boy who was assaulted said, “Even after I informed the school principal, they didn’t take my words seriously. Moreover, they gave me a dismissive reply. I somehow filed a complaint with the police and they said they would conduct an inquiry. Our son has been telling us for many days. If we tell the class teacher, they say the students who ragged my son are bad and he shouldn’t go near them. On Saturday, unable to bear the pain, he spoke up, and it turned out that he had given Rs 3,000 to those boys”.
