BAGALKOT: The Forest department staff, along with snake expert Mahantesh, rescued a 12-foot python, weighing 13 kg from a thorny bush in front of a house at Tipu Nagar in Badami town on Monday night.
On spotting the python, the residents of the house immediately informed the Forest department. Badami RFO Mahesh Marennavar and staff, along with snake expert Mahantesh, rescued the snake from the bush.
The snake was later released safely in a forest. The Indian Rock Python is mostly found in rocky and dry places.
