BENGALURU: The Arogya Kavacha 108 Employees’ Union state vice-president Paramashivaiah has alleged that the employees’ union has cheated ambulance drivers by promising salary raise and release of arrears.
“Money has been collected from more than 3,000 ambulance drivers, and each driver has paid anywhere between Rs 8,000 and Rs 15,000 after being promised a salary hike and release of arrears. But neither has salaries been increased, nor arrears paid”, he said.
“The state president of the employees’ union, Srishail Hallur and his team collected money from ambulance drivers, saying that they had to pay the then health minister and senior officials of the department in order to increase salaries. He had collected approximately Rs 2 crore from ambulance drivers via PhonePe, Google Pay, and by cash,” Paramashivaiah claimed.
The ambulance drivers who suffered financial loss have now come to the streets and are ready to fight against the GVK Emergency Management and Research Institute organisation.
