SHIVAMOGGA: Former Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa has expressed confidence that “With everyone’s blessings, it is certain that, B Y Vijayendra will win from Shikaripura constituency with a margin of more than 40,000 votes. “The BJP will win with absolute majority bagging 125 to 130 seats in the state and we will form the government independently. There is no doubt it. It is as true as the Sun, Moon and the Earth”, he said.
Talking to reporters after voting in Shikaripura, Yediyurappa said, “People’s response was very good wherever I toured in the state. The BJP will get the majority seats due to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s development works, and Basavaraj Bommai’s administration. I am saying this as I made observations during my state tour”.
Referring to the Congress complaint over Modi’s message ahead of election, Yediyurappa said, “They have no other issues. I am 100 per cent sure that Congress will lose the election. That’s why they speak nonsense. Nobody takes such statements seriously”.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah are very keen that the BJP should come back to power in Karnataka, he said. “We are going to win more seats”, he added.
Yediyurappa refuted any chances of forming an alliance with the JD(S) and said that party will get full majority. “There is no question of a hung Assembly or a coalition government. We are going to get 115-117 seats, so the question of joining with the JD(S) right now does not arise. Let us wait and see”, he added.
On being asked about chances of change in leadership, Yediyurappa said, “The national leadership will take the final call”. He also refuted Opposition allegations of “neglecting” communities like Vokkaligas and Lingayats. “These are baseless claims. The BJP has always taken all communities into confidence”, Yediyurappa said.
