BENGALURU: A 10-year-old boy died after an old, rusty gate fell on him at the BBMP Ground in Malleswaram. The incident occurred around 4 pm on Sunday when the boy had come to play.
The deceased was identified as Niranjan, a Class 5 student at the BBMP School in Malleswaram.
According to sources, Niranjan was standing near the gate when it fell on him as it opened, causing severe head injuries. He died on the spot.
Niranjan was the eldest son of v Vijayakumar, an auto driver, and Priya, residents of Malleswaram Pipeline Road.
The Malleshwaram police visited the incident site and have registered a case.
