BALLARI: Ten keypad mobile phones were found in the Ballari Central Jail during a midnight raid targetting contraband items. Three phones were hidden in the floor in the third barrack, three near plants in front of the general toilet and other areas.
The jail authorities are investigating which inmates used these phones. A case has been filed against unknown persons at Brucepet police station. Security and screening measures are being questioned as phones and chargers were smuggled in despite tight security.
Previously, ganja had been found in the jail and some inmates had shot video reels which had become viral on social media. Now, basic phones have been recovered during the raid.
