MANGALURU: A 10-month-old toddler died after swallowing a discarded beedi stub at Adyar in Mangaluru. The deceased has been identified as Anish, son of a couple from Bihar.
The child had swallowed the beedi stub that had fallen on the floor of the house and it got stuck in his throat. Soon after, the child became unwell and was rushed to Wenlock Hospital. However, the child breathed his last without responding for treatment.
The child’s mother, Lakshmi Devi, has filed a complaint against her husband in connection with the incident. The child’s mother has expressed her frustration saying that her husband would throw beedi stubs inside the house though she told him not to, but he never listened to her.
