10 injured in car accident in Byadagi taluk

HAVERI: Ten people were injured in a car accident near Chhatra village in Byadagi taluk of Haveri district, on the Pune-Bengaluru National Highway-48 on Tuesday.

Four people, identified as Tejas, Sandeep, Deepak and Venkatesh, were seriously injured and are being treated at the Davangere district hospital. Six others — Veeresh, Lakshman, Ashok, Goudanabi, Sagar and Sankeet — suffered minor injuries.

The group of youths from Andhra Pradesh was travelling to Goa for a New Year’s party when they crashed into a parked car from behind. The Byadagi police have visited the site and are investigating the incident.
