BENGALURU: A 1.5-year-old girl fell from the second floor balcony of her house in Nayandahalli and is currently recovering in the ICU of a private hospital. Sahana is currently in the ICU and is showing signs of recovery.

Sahana was playing with her grandfather in the balcony outside their house on April 6 when she climbed on to a table and fell off the balcony. She suffered a severe head injury and was rushed to a hospital.

The incident occurred when Sahana’s grandfather Govindaraju stepped inside the house for a moment, leaving her alone. She climbed on to a table near the balcony and fell down. Locals took her to a nearby hospital, and she was later shifted to Rangadore Memorial Hospital in Basavanagudi for further treatment.

Her parents, Naveen Kumar J and Jayashree, are relieved to see their daughter getting better. “My daughter is responding to treatment and is getting better. The doctors say she’s out of danger now,” said Sahana’s father Naveen.

Naveen told Public TV that the child was alone outside while the family was inside. “The child was bleeding in the head after the fall. Locals rushed the child to a hospital and since further treatment was needed, we brought the child to another hospital. The child is currently in ICU, but doctors say she is out of danger. Treatment is ongoing,” Naveen said.
