The desi girl of Bollywood-Priyanka Chopra has made India proud by becoming a global star. Right from presenting Oscars to giving hit songs like In My City and Exotic, the 35-year-old actress has added many feathers of success to her hat. Apart from earning commercial success with films like Bajirao Mastani and Agneepath, PeeCee also proved her mettle with Fashion for which she bagged National Award and Filmfare Award for Best Actress. While most of you might be confused whether her debut film was Andaaz or The Hero: Love Story of a Spy, we have an answer for you.
The answer is none of the above! While her big Bollywood debut was Sunny Deol’s The Hero (April 2003), soon followed by Andaaz (May 2003), Priyanka’s first appearance on the silver screen was in a Tamil film Thamizhan opposite Thalapathy Vijay. Well, she didn’t only act but also crooned an upbeat song called ‘Ullathai Killathe’ for the movie! Now, isn’t it super awesome! Incidentally, Vijay has quite a few Bollywood connections. Katrina Kaif’s first screen appearance was with him in a cola ad.
On the work front, Priyanka has two projects under her belt, one being The Sky is Pink, and the other is Salman Khan starrer Bharat. Talking about The Sky is Pink, it is based on Aisha Chaudhary’s life, who became a motivational speaker after being diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis at the age of 13. Reportedly, Priyanka will play Aisha’s mother in the film, on the other hand, Zaira Wasim will essay the central character in this drama. Farhan Akhtar might be paired opposite former Miss World in this Shonali Bose’s venture.
