Sui Dhaaga helped Anushka Sharma become a ‘gharelu’ wife? Here’s what the actress has to say…

The trailer of Sui Dhaaga Made In India dropped today and if early reactions are anything to go by, the film is poised to become one of the biggest commercial films with a social message that’s hard to ignore. Inspired by the government’s ‘Make in India’ campaign, the trailer took us into the lives of a jovial and aimless Mauji, played by Varun Dhawan who is later motivated to become an entrepreneur by his wife Mamta which Anushka Sharma has essayed on-screen. But apart from the antics and punchy one-liners, it is the social message that makes the drama a highly anticipated one.

In fact, the entire team including director Sharat Katariya and Maneesh Sharma who has produced the film under the banner of Yash Raj Films, was present at the trailer launch event where they spoke about the film at length. But out of all the answers during the press interaction, the one that caught our fancy and we bet it will amuse you too, is the fact that Anushka said she got to live the life of a ‘gharelu’ wife because of Sui Dhaaga. In fact, she opened up about how she liked the time she spent doing domestic chores and said, “Jitna main shaadi ke baad domesticated nahi hui hoon because main 15 saal ki umar she kaam kar rahi hun…I have gotten married and I continue to work but jo domestic nature mujhe Sharad ne diya, jo ek shaadi karke ghar main hone ka feel (laughs).”

She also added that because she has not been able to spend time with Virat, due to the nature of the work, this working experience was as close as she could get to be a wife. “I don’t even get to spend time with my husband but is film mein (I have got to) stay in that world, in the domestic setup…mujhe bahut hi ek acha gharelu atmosphere jeene ko mila,” she added. If you’re wondering, the film is slated to release on September 28 and also stars Raghubir Yadav in a pivotal role.
