Salman Khan’s safety is all that matters to father Salim Khan; says death threats don’t concern the family

On June 6, Special Task Force (STF) of Haryana police arrested Sampat Nehra (local gangster Lawrence Bishnoi’s associate and contract killer ) for allegedly plotting to kill Salman Khan. Subsequent probe further revealed that he was planning this murder for a month and that he also had pictures of Salman’s Galaxy apartments on his phone. “In the first week of May, Sampat Nehra was in Mumbai and surveyed the house of Salman Khan and the time when he comes out in the balcony of his house to wave to his fans. He tried to find out the distance to the balcony and had even taken few photographs of the house,” said Satheesh Balan, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Haryana Special Task Force.

While the security around Galaxy Apartments has been beefed up. Mid Day got in touch with Salman’s father Salim Khan to know how affected he is by this death threat. Is the family seeking any legal help? And Salim Khan replied with no sign of worry, “There is added security for Salman, who has, in any case, always had a good team of security personnel deployed for him. It [threat] is not much of a concern [for the family]. We are only worried about his safety, and that is being taken care of. We have faith in the Mumbai police, and they are doing their job well.”

As Salman Khan is busy promoting his Friday release, Race 3, Salim says his routine hasn’t been affected after reports of the contract killer’s arrest. “This is not the first time that Salman has encountered threats. Everyone is concerned about safety, but work can’t stop.”
