This Friday is all about”unconditional love” thanks to Varun Dhawan, Shoojit Sircar and newbie Banita Sandhu who have come up with a beautiful film called October. As Sircar had once mentioned, “We always talk about unconditional love. But what is it, really? I don’t claim to be an expert on it but in October, I’ve tried to create a situation where we can really experience what it means. It is going to be a simple story. Not some complicated thriller.
Varun needed an October to prove his mettle as an actor, after doing masala films like Judwaa 2 and Badrinath Ki Dulhania. He is already loved by people for his quirky style but October needed him to be a slightly confused and meek as Dan. That’s unlike anything he has done before. That’s a challenge for him. Even in Badlapur, he got the opportunity to show his effervescent self at the start before tragedy strikes. He later goes grim in the film. But in October, he has to handle the rush of emotions with a lot of maturities. So is he excelling at pulling off a character like Dan? Here’s how the audience is reacting to the film after catching a first-day first show.

October is not a film that aims at box office success but knowing Varun’s popularity, trade expert Amul feels, “October is a really good space for Varun Dhawan to dabble into after two big films (Badrinath Ki Dulhania and Judwaa 2). The film is very high on emotions and feelings and it should resonate with the young audience. According to me, October should open well especially keeping in mind Varun’s enviable track record at the box office. He is also the biggest gen next actor, so I am sure the movie will do well and it is an ideal scenario for them.”
