Deepika Padukone made headlines this morning when she walked the red carpet at the Met Gala 2018 for second consecutive time. The actress who made her debut last year donned a Prabal Gurung red hot attire that didn’t go with this year’s theme. Though she looked like a seductress, yet the concept of having a ‘heavenly bodies’ theme in the costume was missing from DP’s fashion pick.
Pairing a yellow velvet jacket by Sandro Paris with her black leather pants, matching pumps and no jewellery, Deepika tried too hard to look sexy. Alas! she didn’t. There was nothing extraordinary in her attire, something that’s quintessential for a Met Gala after party. The gala is all about being dramatic and putting your best fashion foot forward. It’s about looking bold while nailing the theme at the same time. Unfortunately, the Padmaavat actress failed to stick to this year’s theme and had a boring look at the after party. She picked the same yellow jacket that she wore at Shah Rukh Khan’s house party in January this year. Wonder what’s with her obsession of repeating outfits.
There’s no harm in repeating clothes, and we are glad that DP is setting such an admirable trend. But the fact that her ‘repeated attires’ are so boring stays same. It would be great if she picks her stunning attires instead, the ones that have impressed the fashion pundits and compelled us to cheer for her. This Sandro jacket was a definite no-no for an after-party especially for an event as big as Met Gala.
