After months of speculation on whether or not there will be a Sadak sequel, an announcement was made with Alia Bhatt in the lead. Every time we saw Pooja Bhatt, Mahesh Bhatt and Sanjay Dutt catch up, we predicted a new story with Sadak as the title. Now we have Sanjay Dutt spilling the beans about the sequel. The actor told Times Now, “Sadak 2 is a very emotional film. It starts with Ravi [Sanjay Dutt’s character]. It’s many many years later after Sadak, it’s a journey with this young girl who is Alia [Bhatt] and how she becomes a very important factor in his life to stay alive. It’s a very crazy character.”
Pooja Bhatt had revealed during a media interaction, “The production house of the film will announce the cast and crew. All I can say is that it is happening and I also want to mention that it was Sanjay Dutt who initiated it. He was the one who came to me and said ‘why were we not making Sadak 2?’… On his request, I went to tell them (Mahesh and Mukesh Bhatt) about Sanjay Dutt’s urge and desire to work in this film… They have a connection which I don’t think anybody has.” She was also asked if she is interested to be part of it as an actress and she rubbished it. “I was spoiled because I had the best of Mahesh Bhatt and I had no desire to really act when he quit direction. But I think with this film, we are going to go back to the 90s where filmmaking was more organic and the learning was greater,” Pooja informs.
