Govinda Is Not Happy With PVR’s Not Screening His Film FryDay On Odd Hours

Hindi film industry’s most celebrated actor Govinda put his hard work and soul in his movie FryDay which marks his comeback in Bollywood. Despite receiving a positive review from the critics and audience didn’t reach its expectations at the box office. It must be sad for the industry.

The box office collection of the movie FryDay is low if compared to the estimation of trade analysts. This loss happened due to the co-producer/partner, PVR not releasing the movie in most of their theatres and their odd hours and late night shows which are not suitable for its target viewers. Till now, FryDay has earned Rs 1.25 at the BO and the credit goes to Govinda’s charm and his fan following. This film is beautifully crafted and directed by Abhishek Dogra.

Meanwhile, Kajol’s starrer movie Helicopter Eela only attracted Rs 75 lakhs.

Talking about his disappointment over the PVR’s blunder Govinda said, “Art, or rather any form of creativity should be encouraged. Any businessman should keep commerce in mind but why with a pre-conceived idea? Even if they had a pre-conceived idea, they should know by now that FryDay has been welcomed well – so now they need to step up the shows pronto. I had a word with them and we are going to talk again on Monday, which is when I believe that the remedial measures will be taken.”

“You can’t hug a person who is standing with his hands folded, can you? Hope better sense prevails,” the actor added.

Also, director Abhishek Dogra said that PVR did partiality when it comes to giving the more screening to Helicopter Eela and Jalebi than to his film. This left the director and the leading actor feeling ditched and disappointed.
