Gold releases on August 15 and stars Akshay Kumar as Tapan Das who promises to higher officials that he will get gold for India as a free nation. The story attempts to take us back to 1948 when India played Hockey in the Olympics for the first time as an independent nation. The challenges the team faced while being a newly-minted free nation forms the crux of the film. Today, the makers revealed the anthem of the film Ghar layenge Gold. Daler Mehendi’s strong vocals have taken the song many notches higher. It instantly fills you with pride and honour for your country. It is Akshay’s Independence day treat for his fans this year. The actor has found his place in the date calendar by clinching the days when India celebrates something historic in terms of its independence. It has worked wonders for him and Gold won’t be an exception. It packs the patriotic fervour perfectly and thus, it’s an apt release for August 15. If that wasn’t enough, this song will evoke all the sentiments you feel for your country.

Akshay was not selected for the role just because Gold has some a patriotic theme to it. The actor is known to do stories with nationalism in it these days. While Reema asserted that Akshay was perfect as Tapan, Ritesh said, “He relates to it. He identified it and it is working for him. I think he figured out that works for him and obviously people are convinced and they believe that he is working in that zone. So, people go out and watch those films. That’s why they are successful. I think all directors and writers look for the best person which suit the character.”
